Alex Ekwueme Institute for Peace (AEIP)

This is the first Institute of its kind in Africa.

  1. The Institute shall be set up in Abuja Nigeria
  2. It would conduct and coordinate training and research into peace in Africa
  3. The institute shall train scholars who would become Ekwueme Peace Fellows.
  4. It would endow professorial chairs in Universities and Colleges for the promotion and advancement of peace.
  5. The Insitute shall collaborate with other establishments of its kinds and other organisations and charities sharing its objectives in finding lasting peace for Africa
  6. While the primary focus of the Institute shall be Africa; it shall work with global partners regardless of the racial, ethnic, political or religious background.

The main principle for the AEIP would be to sensitise ordinary people on the need for peace. The programs on peace research and direct work for peace would be concentrated on those nations currently engaged in armed conflicts. The institute shall also work with nations emerging from conflict in finding lasting solution to peace and prosperity.
