Our Mission

The Foundation promotes its works through the following programmes and activities:

1. African Institute for Peace (AIP)

This is the first Institute of its kind in Africa. The Institute shall be set up in Abuja, Nigeria.

• It would conduct and ordinate training and research into peace in Africa.
• The institute shall train scholars who would become Ekwueme Peace Ambassadors.
• It would endow professorial chairs in Universities and colleges for the promotion and advancement of peace.
• The Insitute shall collaborate with other establishments of its kinds and other organisations and charities sharing its objectives in finding lasting peace for Africa.
• While the primary focus of the Institute shall be Africa, it shall work with global partners regardless of the racial, ethnic, political or religious background.

The main principle for the AIP would be to sensitise ordinary people on the need for peace. The programs on peace research and direct work for peace would be concentrated on those nations currently engaged in armed conflicts.

2. African Peace Summit

• The Foundation shall organise a biennial Peace Summit.
• The Summit would bring together all organisations and charities working for Peace in Africa.
• The Summit shall become the focus for articulation of ideas towards peaceful resolution of conflicts in Africa.
• The Summit would also analyse effort by nations and communities coming out of conflict.
